We are a small, focused team of Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) building and scaling automation frameworks that validate firmware platforms. Our mission is to ensure high-quality, reliable test coverage that supports product development at scale. We are currently building our lab infrastructure from the ground up, designing and deploying physical testing environments and devices, while establishing the supporting infrastructure that ensures automation runs smoothly and reliably across diverse platforms.
As the Lab Infrastructure Engineer, you will be the top-level technical expert responsible for ensuring our laboratory's scalability, reliability, and readiness for complex testing needs. This role is focused on designing and implementing advanced hardware and software lab solutions, automating infrastructure and configuration management, and resolving our most challenging technical issues.
- Drive the design, architecture, and implementation of the lab infrastructure from scratch, taking full responsibility for the final result and proposing optimal solutions.
- Perform hands-on setup, maintenance, and optimization of test environments, which includes soldering of embedded components.
- Work closely with SDETs to enable efficient testing pipelines.
- Implement automation and orchestration for the hardware and software involved in lab operations.
- Identify bottlenecks, propose optimizations, and make the lab more reliable and scalable.
- Work on-site at one of our Kyiv laboratories.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and scaling on-premises infrastructure, including physical test devices and supporting systems.
- Strong expertise in Unix/Linux systems and networking fundamentals (LAN/Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, NAT) and robust network design.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices, developing automation infrastructure frameworks, and support tools.
- Proficiency with orchestration and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Soldering skills and basic understanding of PCB design and schematic.
- Practical experience with Raspberry Pi/Arduino for building and testing solutions.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities for complex hardware, software, and network issues, with a forward-thinking approach to suggesting lab infrastructure optimizations.
- The ability to take full ownership of lab operations and results, while actively partnering with SDETs and other teams to achieve shared goals.
- An Upper-Intermediate level in both written and spoken English (B2).
- Hands-on experience with Docker (exposure to Kubernetes is a plus).
- Experience with AWS or other cloud services.
