Summary
Position focuses on ensuring legal security for military production, covering contracts with state and international partners, internal policies and regulatory compliance. The role demands extensive experience in legal, particularly in defense, with strong expertise in contract work, negotiations, and compliance, alongside B2+ English proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Accompanying the conclusion of contracts with state counterparties (Ministry of Defense, state enterprises, international support programs):
- Participation in negotiations;
- Coordination of commercial terms;
- Assessment of legal risks and opportunities for the company.
- Working with contracts with private counterparties (manufacturers, suppliers, integrators, foreign partners).
- Control of contract compliance with current legislation and internal company policies.
- Preparation and support of:
- Contracts, supplementary agreements, letters, claims, responses to inquiries;
- Claim and litigation work (if necessary, with external advisors or independently).
- Development, updating, and implementation of internal policies and procedures (compliance, sanctions, confidentiality, export control, anti-corruption).
- Participation in intellectual property protection projects:
- Analysis of rights to developments;
- Registration / protection of IP rights;
- Work with NDAs, IP clauses in contracts with contractors, engineers, R&D.
- Assessment of regulatory impact on the company's activities:
- Monitoring changes in legislation (defense, export control, sanctions, public procurement);
- Recommendations to management on process adaptation.
- Participation in product certification and codification processes (interaction with government bodies, specialized structures, obtaining permits and conclusions).
- Interaction with government bodies and regulators (letters, meetings, responses to inquiries).
- Execution of individual assignments from management within legal competence.
Requirements
What we Expect
- Higher legal education.
- Experience as a lawyer for 5+ years, preferably in manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, development, defense, or related industries.
- Experience in:
- Negotiations with counterparties and government agencies;
- Working with contracts (B2G, B2B), claims work;
- Participation in complex agreements (multiple parties, foreign counterparties, grants, international programs).
- Knowledge of corporate, economic, labor, and administrative law.
- Understanding or readiness to quickly immerse oneself in:
- The specifics of defense orders;
- Export control, sanctions compliance, dual-use / military products.
- English language B2+, with practical experience in:
- Reading and preparing contracts in English;
- Correspondence / basic negotiations with foreign partners.

Languages

- Experience working with defense products, military-technical cooperation, international donors / funds.
- Experience interacting with export control, State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine, Ministry of Strategic Industries, National Security and Defense Council, National Agency on Corruption Prevention, etc.
- Experience in building or participating in a compliance system (sanctions, KYC, AML, OSINT-due diligence).
